Red Rack'em
With a variety of monikers and styles to his name Danny Berman aka Red Rack’em, is swiftly becoming one of the UKs most prolific and talented producers.
Over the last couple of years Danny has released housey disco as Hot Coins, Detroit techno and two step vibes as Marlinspike and uses his original Red Rack'em moniker for wonk hop and beatdown house, finding homes on some of the underground's coolest labels such as Tirk, Society, Deep Freeze, Untracked and Soft Rocks.
He's had props and plays from the likes of Carl Craig, Unabombers, Todd Terje, Rob Da Bank, Greg Wilson, Zane Lowe, Mary Anne Hobbes and Gilles Peterson –€“€“ who invited Danny to spin at this year's Worldwide Awards and then broadcasted his set on Radio 1. Nice.
Gigwise his resume includes Bestival, Snowbombing, Matter and this Summer will see him play at both Glastonbury and The Big Chill. Danny is also in demand as a support DJ for live acts and has recently warmed up for the likes of Fat Freddys Drop, Amp Fiddler, Dwele and Flying Lotus.
His music releases have been equally well received with massive Radio 1 support for his remix of The Joubert Singers 'Stand on the World' and his new single for Deep Freeze, 'Crowd Scene / Picnic' sold out in the first week of its release. The coming months will see more singles for Untracked, Deep Freeze and Autodiscoteque and work continues for his Hot Coins LP on Tirk and the Marlinspike album.
As a DJ, Danny is a true purveyor of 'joining the dots', having that enviable knack of finishing his set in a completely different territory to where he started it. He is also steadily building an international audience through his popular fortnightly Smugglers Inn podcast which is available to download from his website.
