Yam Who?

With the first release on Yam Who’s ISM label by Parallel Dance Ensemble getting plays and props from the likes of James Murphy, Maurice Fulton, Horse Meat Disco, and Steve Kotey, Yam Who’s new label seems to have hit the disco nail right on the head.

And who are we to argue?

The studio and DJ alias for two individuals with a shared, eclectic and passionate interest in music of all genres. they cite their major musical heroes as Prince, Larry Levan, Talking Heads, Fela Kuti, Funkadelic, Herbie Hancock & Arthur Russell and modern influences from LCD Soundsystem, Metro Area, Unabombers & The Glimmers, to Henrick Schwarz, Fandeath & MGMT.

Yam Who? claimed the biggest remix of 2009. Check their amazing rework of 'Williams Blood' by the legendary Miss Grace Jones. Gospel electronic soul for the masses. Currently being broadcasted by DJ's worldwide from the UK & USA over to Puerto Rico, via Australia and onto Japan and back to Europe, this is a another classic production by the infamous Yam Who? duo.

They have had the privilege to work with and remix numerous artists on the underground and commercial music scene, including John Legend, Zero 7, Joss Stone, Incognito, Amp Fiddler, Elektrons and Azymuth, in a variety of musical styles encompassing Deep Disco, Afro Electronica, Cosmic Funk, Twisted House, Brazilian Salsa and Broken Soul.

They have constantly received support from many DJ's, Gilles Peterson, Norman Jay, Masters At Work, Joey Negro, Annie Mac (Radio One), Mad Matts, Faze Action, Prins Thomas and Greg Wilson to name a few.

Right now they are busy in the studio working on their own 2009 album, and scheduling to release new material from exciting artists such as; Erik Rico (Jazzy Sport), Bennson (Raw Fusion), Robin Hannibal (Ubiquity), Chaz Jankel (Ian Dury & The Blockheads) and Colonel Red (People) via their new digital download record label.
